Portland Community College multimedia instructor Seth Bloombaum likes Producing Streaming Video for Multiple Stream Delivery so much that he’s using it in an upcoming course scheduled for this fall. He also took the time to write a 5-star review on Amazon, which is greatly appreciated. Here are his comments:
Kudos to Jan Ozer for this massive update to his “Encoding…” book of 2011. It’s really more than an update, there is lots of new material covering newer online video distribution methods like DASH and HEVC, as well as very strong coverage of h.264/HTML5 methods. Also, more on professional-level encoders, and a new introductory chapter that gives a great conceptual overview of online video.
As always, Ozer has based his encoding recommendations on extensive testing; he also provids survey info on methods and specs used by many leading online content providers. We’ll be using this as the text for a college-level streaming class, and happy to do so, it’s the most up-to-date streaming reference available today.
Thanks, Seth. I’m proud to help contribute.
