Adobe Revs the Creative Cloud

A press release entitled Adobe Updates All Pro Video Applications just crossed my desk. Here are the paragraphs relevant to Premiere Pro and the Adobe Media Encoder.

Premiere Pro – The Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 update includes a number of feature enhancements for editors, including support for Arri Open Gate media, the ability to set transitions and still image default durations in either seconds or frames, and improved GoPro CineForm export. In addition, QuickTime and GoPro CineForm codecs can now be used as sequence preview file formats on Windows.

Adobe Media Encoder – Along with Destination Publishing to YouTube and Vimeo, the Media Encoder CC update includes updated Vimeo and GoPro CineForm presets, the option to automatically append preset names to output file names, the ability to export audio channels as separate WAV files, and more.

I’m particularly excited about the ability to append preset names to output file names, which is long overdue, and will simplify both watch folder and manual operation. Otherwise, just small continuous improvements, just like Adobe promised us when they moved to the Creative Cloud, leased software model.
